I’m leaving for Barcelona in 9 days. Lucky me! Except for my flight and hotel, I haven’t done much planning. Like Prague, Barcelona is a city to be explored by walking. I’m not even sure if I want to hire a guide or get restaurant recommendations from friends who have been there. I say this because getting lost, figuring things out, and discovering are what makes travel amazing and wonderful.
As I read about the quintessential architect of Barcelona, Antoni Gaudi, I was reminded of the fragility of our lives, once again. A God-loving man, Gaudi, dedicating the last years of his life entirely to the church, was hit by a trolley car ON HIS WAY TO CHURCH. WTF! He died two days later. Whoa. Another reminder to seize the day, I thought. This inspires me to find my Bucket List and update it soon. Really. I know Barcelona was always on my list but I don’t remember what else I wrote some seven years ago when I started the list. As I count down to Barcelona, I dream of all the other places in the world I want to travel to…
